LINUX SUPPORT DOES EXIST (see below)

  1. WSL on windows….

You must run APACHE & MYSQL
sudo service apache2 start
sudo service mysql start

Launch Qoder.exe
Go to Explorer and choose the location of your files: i.e.
Linux > Ubuntu > var > www > html
(the file path is Ubuntu\var\www\html)

I personally recommend creating a project folder inside the html folder first, then choose that newly created folder for Qoder to use.

Once you add the filepath to explorer you can start chatting in the righthand box AI CHAT

Follow-up (September 4, 2025)

Hello,

It’s been a couple of weeks since the initial confirmation that Linux support is on the roadmap, but there haven’t been any concrete details shared. Since many in the community rely on Linux as their primary OS, this request is quite important and affects adoption of the application.

Could you please provide a clearer update such as a tentative release target or at least which stage this feature is currently in? Without transparency, it’s difficult for Linux users to plan ahead or continue relying on the application.

We’d appreciate a concrete update from the team.

WSL 的环境下也有问题。我每次打开WSL镜像都报错，每次必须删除.qoder-server目录才可以打开。请修复这个问题。下面是一段报错日志：

I’m also waiting for the linux version.

Trae has been paying for a while, but their Linux version still hasn’t been released. I hope Qoder can push hard to launch the Linux build as soon as possible. I’ll also transfer my subscription plan over once it’s available.

I’d like to reinforce the request for a Linux version.
A significant part of the developer community (and even many advanced users) use Linux as their main system — on desktops, servers, or containers.

Having a native build would bring several benefits:

  • Seamless integration with common dev environments (CI/CD, Docker, LXC, etc.).

  • Better stability and performance, since Linux is often the base for servers and workstations.

  • Access to an active community, which could provide valuable feedback, testing, and even contributions.

  • Broader user base, as many developers don’t run Windows/macOS in their daily workflow.

I understand that multi-platform support adds complexity, but starting with the most common distributions (e.g. Ubuntu/Debian or Fedora) would already make a huge difference.

A Linux version would definitely strengthen Qoder’s position as a more inclusive and developer-friendly tool.

Without Linux support this tool is useless for me. Add Debian/Ubuntu version at least.
