Context
My monthly credits (free + pro plan totaling $3,000) run out much faster than expected (only less than 2 days), even though I’m only working at moderate usage levels and speed. Currently, 1) Qoder IDE does not show token or credit used per task, and 2) its usage dashboard only shows total credits used, with no breakdown by feature, task, or daily usage. This lack of transparency makes it difficult to understand where credits are being spent and prevents me from managing usage effectively. Similar issues in Cursor led to unexpected “credit inflation.”
Problem
Provides visibility into credit consumption, helping users understand how their credits are being used and avoid running out unexpectedly. This improves trust and allows better planning for workflows and budgeting.
Solution
Introduce detailed usage tracking in Qoder, including:
-
Breakdown of credits by feature or task type (e.g., code generation, AI completions, file analysis).
-
Daily or session-based usage logs.
-
Optional notifications or thresholds when usage is accelerating.
How it should work? In the Qoder dashboard, add a “Usage Details” panel that shows:
- Credits spent per day.
- Credits spent per feature/task.
- Running total vs monthly allocation.
- Provide an export option (CSV/JSON) for deeper analysis.
- Optionally, color-coded indicators for high-usage days or tasks.
Use Case
When would you use this?
- While working on a project, I can monitor which tasks or features consume the most credits and adjust workflow accordingly.
- Helps plan when to scale usage or purchase additional credits without surprises.
Priority
Medium - Important improvement

Example: On Cursor or Windsurf, credit inflation occurred due to opaque usage tracking. A similar transparency feature would prevent this. On Claude Code, there is an indicator for tokens used per task.
