Problem
The Explorer file tree in Qoder’s sidebar has no “Upload” button. When I need to bring local files (images, datasets, config files, docs) into the workspace — especially a remote/cloud workspace — the only options are drag-and-drop (which often doesn’t work well with remote environments) or using terminal commands like scp/rsync. This is inconvenient and unfriendly to users who aren’t comfortable with the command line.
Solution
Add an “Upload…” action to the Explorer:
- A button in the file tree toolbar (next to New File / New Folder / Refresh), and
- An “Upload Files / Upload Folder” item in the right-click context menu of any folder.
Clicking it opens the system file picker, lets the user select one or multiple files (or a whole folder), and uploads them into the selected directory. Show upload progress, and ask before overwriting files with the same name.
Use Case
- Working in a remote/cloud dev environment (e.g., a GPU instance) and needing to upload local test images, datasets, or scripts into the project.
- Quickly adding assets (pictures, documents, weights files) to a project without leaving the IDE or opening a terminal.
- Users who don’t know scp/rsync can still get local files into the workspace.
Priority
-
High - Blocking issue -
Medium - Important improvement -
Low - Nice to have
