Feature Description
I would like to request official support for Windows on ARM, so that the application can be installed and run natively on ARM64-based Windows devices.
Problem Statement
Currently, the application is only available for traditional Windows (x86/x64) and Mac systems. This leaves users of modern Windows on ARM devices without a native option.
Use Case
Professionals and consumers using modern, power-efficient ARM-based laptops (e.g., Microsoft Surface Pro 11, Swift 14 AI, Vivobook S 15, Latitude 7455, OmniBook X AI PC、EliteBook Ultra AI PC, Yoga Slim 7x、ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 ) for work and personal use.
As-is
The application cannot be installed or run natively on Windows on ARM.
To-be
The application should have a native ARM64 version for Windows that installs and runs seamlessly, taking full advantage of the hardware’s performance and power efficiency, just like on other supported operating systems.
Proposed Solution (Optional)
-
Compile and release a native ARM64 version of the Windows application.
-
Update the existing installer (e.g., .exe or MSIX) to be a hybrid package that automatically installs the correct binary (x64 or ARM64) for the user’s system architecture.
-
Ensure all dependencies are also compatible with or available for ARM64.
Additional Context
The adoption of Windows on ARM is growing rapidly, with major manufacturers releasing new devices that offer superior battery life and instant-on capabilities. Providing a native ARM64 version would expand the user base, significantly improve the user experience on these devices, and future-proof the application for the next generation of PC hardware.
